· SAT GRANT: VIRGINIA CITY WATER AND SEWER IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

The excavation behind Content’s Corner has been fruitful one of the foundations was located within the first two test units. A trench like excavation was extended from that point in a southerly direction to try to locate the other presumed foundations. The artifact analysis for this project is being conducted simultaneously. This project needs to be completed and reported on by September 30th, which is when the extension on this particular grant expires.

· PRASCH BLACKSMITH SHOP PRESERVATION PROJECT

After the VC Institute training session was canceled, the outside and inside testing was completed. The testing results found no adverse effect to cultural remains under the proposed preservation work plan. The areas tested inside the building revealed few artifacts none of which were located below 4 inches from the ground surface under the floorboards. This would indicate the areas tested always had some type of flooring surface.

· CABBAGE PATCH PROJECT

The preservation has started the condition assessment of the sheds and other buildings present in this complex. The collection inside the structures had to be removed in order to do the assessment, this step required digging out the bottom of each doors, most of which were buried 4 to 6 inches in sod. A few artifacts were located during that process.

· GILBERT BREWERY STABILIZATION PROJECT
